While that was done, the other member of the crew began the replacing old sofit vent covers and cutting new vents. When finished with the vents and barrier, work on the ducts began. From our points of view, the barrier and vents were well done judging from other barriers I have seen and vent placement. It is a bit difficult to judge some of the work since, for instance, one can not see the tops of the vents very easily from inside the attic, nor maintain a complete mental picture of before and after aspects of duct connections. However, all things being equal, the duct work looked good. I would suggest a bit more care in cleanup where sofit vents are installed, for we had to pickup some sofit cutouts and insulation. Also, the garage floor, where attic entry was made, needed a good sweeping. We are pleased to have had the work done and look forward to saving energy.

They clearly explained the costs and we were appreciative that there were no hidden costs or switch-and-bait tactics like we had experienced with another duct cleaning company. The final cost matched the estimate given us at the outset. Will and Darryl were the technicians who came to our home to do the cleaning. Both were friendly, professional, and clear in communicating the process, which included the spraying of a sanitizer throughout our system. They used drop cloths under the returns and vents as they cleaned and left our floors and furniture clean and without any vent debris. We have a healthier, cleaner smelling home. We would highly recommend this company.

Due to an equipment breakdown the duct cleaning had to be rebooked. Climate Doctors did so smoothly. The audit thus was performed first and it went very smoothly. A few areas were pointed out that needed improvement. While somewhat familiar with making a home more energy efficient, having done so for the last three or four homes we lived in, I had not done at least one important thing in the past: make sure ducts are well sealed where they are attached to other ducts, the plenum and vents. Really , I thought that would have been a no brainer, but our current and recently acquired older home needs attention to this important detail in several places. The duct cleaning went well with good cleaning of outlet registers and as far as one can tell observing a the cleaning tool being pushed into a duct. We had 6 return air ducts to be cleaned which had air filters at their entry points and 13 air delivery ducts delivering air into rooms of the house. We had more times to observe cleaning of air delivery ducts than return air ducts. We should have spent our % observation time the other way round. I should point out that the most of the return ducts are what are referred to as wall ducts and

When they finished my wife asked if they were going on the roof. They said it wasn't necessary, they could do it all from the dryer. Next day when we washed serveal loads, she complained that they weren't drying right and their was water on the floor. I went out and looked at the roof vent. There was a large gob of lint stuck in the screen covering. I got out the ladder and climbed up and too out the screen to remove the gob of lint. Then went back inside and turned on the dryer. There was no airflow coming out the roof vent. So, I called and was told they would come back later that afternoon. They came and removed the roof vent and ran the cleaning tool removing a large amount of lint that was soaking wet. When the dryer was restarted the airflow was normal again. So, the service was sa tisfactory, but I would think the airflow should have been checked the first visit before they left.

They conducted a quick inventory of the vents and returns, then brought the cleaning equipment into the house. They were done in less than 40 minutes. All the vent covers were re-installed with no nicks or dings. You couldn't tell they had been removed. The ducts had not been cleaned in 15 years.

They were prompt and professional. After completing the work in our walk-in attic, they turned off everything that looks like a light switch - including the one next to the furnace that has the word "FURNACE" written on the switch plate. Fortunately, the house only lost 5 degrees before I realized what had happened and turned the furnace switch back on, so no harm done. Also, lots of insulation was left on the garage floor and the stairway to the walk-in attic. That's a short term inconvenience, but everything that will make a difference a year from now or longer was done correctly.

I was impressed from my first contact with owner Paul Boyd for the estimate. He took the time to explain why I needed a service, and did not try to sell me services I did not need. In fact, I had requested a vent cleaning and he flat out told me I did not need it. He took additional time to give me pointers on items around that house that needed work, but could be done by myself. On the date of service, his two workers showed up right on time. They blew insulation and applied radiant barrier Heat-Block Ultra. They applied copious amounts of insulation and were careful to get in all crevices throughout the attic. The technician who applied the radiant barrier paint did a thorough job and applied evenly, even in tight cracks. They completed their work before their estimated 4 hour completion time. They were careful with my wood floors. Overall, this was a great experience and I would highly recommend their services. Lastly, their pricing was very competitive and actually below another estimate I received. In fact, the first estimate the technician gave me an $850 estimate to install two wind turbines. I ordered a whole house energy audit. As soon as Paul entered the door, he asked me if there was a specific reason I purchased the service, which was a hot/cold room in my house. He spend a good amount of time logically determining three reasons for this, and had tools and instruments to measure and validate his findings, then suggested a solution. He also audited the rest of the house and only found one other item that might need to be resolved. Very thorough examination, and answered all my questions.
